Q: Why did you decide to live in Japan?

A: My father started his company here in Japan almost 20 years ago. When I was younger, my family and I would often visit. I grew to admire the culture, tradition, and language. I always wanted to learn a second language and studied Japanese in university, but I wasn't skilled enough to have a conversation comfortably. I believe immersion is the best way to learn a language and since one of our headquarters are located in Tokyo, moving to Japan was the right option for me.

Q: Why did you choose Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin?

A: I knew I wanted to be in the Shibuya area. Not only is it one of the most exciting cities, but it is conveniently located near one of our offices. I also appreciate that the school has a  reasonably slow and steady pace. After researching and comparing to other schools in Tokyo, Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin had more of an informative website, videos and positive reviews from other students.

Q: In your opinion, what is the best thing about studying in Japan at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin?

A: There are many good things about studying in Japan and at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin! But if I had to choose just one, it would be the staff. They have been incredibly helpful and I believe, have a genuine interest in the success of each student. From the teachers to the support staff, I am grateful that they seek feedback from the students each term. It shows they are constantly trying to improve and adjust to best suit the needs of every student. They make living in a foreign country much more welcoming and I am enjoying every moment!

Q: What are your plans after graduating from Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin?

A: I plan on continuing my studies with Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin for the full 2-year term and aiming to pass the JLPT test N2 or N1. After graduating, I hope to apply all that I have learned to contribute to our business here in Japan. I will continue to live here and make Japan my home for the next couple of years after working with both our Japanese and international employees. I'm excited to continue to learn the language for my future and look forward to the endless possibilities that may come from my experience.

Q: What would you tell to others who wish to study at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin?

A: To others who wish to study at Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin, I think it is a great school to fit any student's needs. They offer extracurricular activities and the teachers are firm to speak only in Japanese, helping with the immersion of the language. Along with a famous location, they are established and friendly to different cultures and backgrounds.
